Tuberculosis is a bacterial infection. It is the chronic infectious disease caused by the tubercle bacillius. It is regarded as oldest disease. In this paper we present a general overview of TB drug targets, diagnosis, medicinal plant treatment. 14 candidate drug for drug-susceptible, drug-resistant, and latent tuberculosis are in clinical stages of drug development; 9 are in novel in phase1 and phase 2 trials, and 3 are in advanced stages of development of MDR tuberculosis. |
